Necessity is the Mother of Invention!

Went to Home Depot yesterday and picked up the items in the image below. I've been playing carpenter and painter all day and I kinda like it... Can you guess what I'm up to?

If you guessed cupcake stands, you would be right!

I was running some errands with a friend and was looking for some material to make a dispoable stand for an upcomming event. But when my friend had to stop in Lowes and then Home Depot,  and I saw all these guys carrying lumber, it hit me... Why was I making/ buying a disposable stand that would probably cost just as much as making a sturdy reusable one? And the ideas began to flow... I drew the plans up in my head while walking around the store and when I got home it was time to get to work.

After painting the tiers,  I worked out the balance (on the left) and you can see the finished products (on the right). With these two collapsible stands I can make at least 5 other stands for any event with varying styles just by rearranging the pieces. And there you have it! Cupcake stands!

Cupcake bakers if this went into mass production would you buy it?
