Cupcake Chromatography Bespoke Orders Terms and Policies

Thank you for choosing Cupcake Chromatography for your special occasion! We know how annoying “fine print” can be, but because we are committed to ensuring that each customer receives our very best service we have outlined the following terms and policies to provide full disclosure, and answer some of the most common questions.

Pricing and Fees Since each cake incorporates many variables, we use the number of servings and complexity of design elements to calculate pricing. Our minimum order is $100. Sculpted cake orders start at $200. In addition, we may charge fees for delivery, setup, equipment rental, and last minute orders.

Bookings and Deposits We invite all prospective and returning customers to complete our Order Request Form online to begin the booking process.  After receiving your submission, you may be contacted for additional details. An invoice, which is your contract with us, will be provided when the details have been finalized, and if we are available for your order. Upon receipt of an invoice, your initial non-refundable deposit of 50% of the order value reserves your event date, and serves as your agreement to the terms and conditions of your order. Performance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Cupcake Chromatography to complete the agreement and is subject to labor disputes or strikes, accidents, Acts of God, and other causes beyond our control. We are at times able to accommodate last minute orders; however, we highly recommend submitting your request at least 6 weeks in advance.

Payments and Balances We are proud to accept all major credit cards. Customers can securely pay portions, or their full balances online using the link in their invoice. Corporate customers may choose to be billed monthly.  We are also able to accept payment by phone, through Quick Pay, Zelle and Venmo, as well as personal checks. Your balance due date is 30 days prior to your event date. We must receive the balance by the due date indicated on the invoice. Your invoice is your contract with Cupcake Chromatography for the fulfillment of your request. The contract is null and void if full payment is not made by the indicated date, and your deposit will not be refunded. Cupcake Chromatography reserves the right to add a rush fee to invoices that have not been paid on time if are still able to accommodate the order.

Cancellations, Changes and Refunds Cupcake Chromatography cannot accept responsibility for changes in personal or business circumstances or commitments that may impact your order. However, we do our best to address unexpected changes on a case by case basis. Making changes to your order after receiving your contract may be subject to additional charges. The date of your final payment is the final date to request any changes to your order. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed. After making your final payment, we are unable to make changes that may reduce your total order value. A full refund will be issued if we cancel your order for any reason, and for security deposits on equipment rentals that are returned on time and in original condition.

Equipment Rental If your cake requires equipment and items such as brooches, columns, cake plates, stands or other non-disposable items, a refundable security deposit will be added to your invoice for payment. This security deposit will be refunded in full when the equipment is returned to us in original condition no later than 7 business days after the event date. The security deposit is forfeited if equipment is not returned or if equipment has been damaged.

Delivery and Setup Cupcake Chromatography will deliver your bespoke order to your event location. Delivery fees are calculated based on the number of miles from our kitchen and is outlined on your invoice. You are responsible for providing an appropriate and secure environment for your order.  Please keep in mind that cakes, especially multi-tiered cakes are heavy, and require a sturdy surface, and optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below. We do our best to transport your cake safely, which at times may require that the cake is set up, or that finishing touches are added at the venue. You will be notified if this is a requirement for your order. A setup fee is charged if you would like us to install elements that you or a 3rd party provides for your cake decor, such as fresh flowers from a florist. Such requests must be made before final payment is due on your invoice. We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. If you or your representative choose to collect and set up the cake yourself, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Cupcake Chromatography possession.

Allergen and Non-Edible Elements Our products are prepared in a facility where milk, wheat, nuts, soy, eggs and other allergens may also be used. If you choose to use fresh flowers in your decor, please keep in mind that some flowers are not edible, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants that may be harmful to your guests. In addition, many multi-tiered, stacked and sculpted cakes, as well as cake decor elements such as satin or studded ribbons, brooches, sugar flowers and cake toppers may be, or may contain non edible elements such as dowel rods and other internal and structural support. Payment of your invoice in full or part indicates your agreement to notify your guests of these risks, and releases, indemnifies and excludes Cupcake Chromatography and its contractors and employees from any and all liability of any kind.
